Spring 2020

The Lockdown

We’ve all been affected by Covid19, it has lead us to reflect and re-evaluate our lives and ask the question, will we actually return to the way we were? (There’s a song in there somewhere!) It has accelerated our online shopping habits and with technology at our fingertips we’ve quickly adapted – it’s instant and it’s easy but that doesn’t mean it has to be shoddy! We’re now faced with the evolving imminent changes where more of us will undoubtedly be based and work from home in a nook, office or a shared space so why not fill that space with utterly gorgeous home and desk accessories – go on, you know you want to!

Here at Yateley Papers HQ, there has been a growing trend (or some could say, a bit of a mad rush) to organise ones’ workspace and to refresh with luxurious boxes, trays and files. Not to mention, by way of injecting a splash of interest and colour, for the style-conscious a chic way to store a box of tissues, our Tissue Boxes and out with the old and in with the new a statement lampshade (if well considered it can be as good as a piece of art).

We have evolved as we’ve continued to concentrate on our first love – block printing! And it has kept us extremely busy developing some new and exciting creations, see our online shop for the introduction of our new Journals, Trays, paper-covered Baskets and Exquisite Greetings & Correspondence Cards - absolutely thrilled to have mastered and incorporate metallic’s and who doesn’t love the shimmer of a metallic!

We return with our workshops to the ever inspiring Petersham Nurseries https://petershamnurseries.com/events/autumn-hand-block-printing-with-yateley-papers/ and Meet-The-Maker, October residency 2nd & 3rd at Richmond and 4th at Covent Garden. We also return for the popular festive paper workshop on 10th December at Richmond which is great fun https://petershamnurseries.com/events/festive-hand-block-printing-with-yateley-papers/ If you are inspired please go to their website to book a place or two (it makes for a perfect pre-Christmas treat with a like-minded friend). Our top-tip would be to book a place before they sell out.

It’s been a busy, if somewhat ‘strange’ start to 2020 but here’s hoping we can all manage to stay safe and as fine & dandy as possible.

Take care x
